Biography

Aliy Abdulwahid ADEBISI, is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Arabic, University of Ilorin with 15 years of university teaching, research and administrative experience.  He teaches Arabic and Translation studies. His research majorly focuses on Translation. He holds an M.A. in Arabic, a PhD. in Arabic language and literature (Translation) and a PGD in Journalism.He has over thirty publications in reputable outlets covering journals, edited conferences, and chapters in books and Books. He has successfully supervised four master’s Dissertations while two Ph.D. thesis are in progress. Dr. Adebisi is a fellow and National president, of the Nigerian Institute of Translators and Interpreters. He is a member of the following professional bodies: The Translation Studies Association of Nigeria, the Association of Translation Studies in Africa, and the European Society for Translation. He is a grant recipient of the British Academy on African Translation and Interpretation Studies writing workshop in South Africa. He is currently Ag. Director, Institute for Translation Arts, University of Ilorin, Nigeria.
